| Exodus 38:14 | The hangings for one side of the gate were fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. |
| Exodus 38:15 | And so for the other side. On both sides of the gate of the court were hangings of fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three bases. |
| Exodus 38:16 | All the hangings around the court were of fine twined linen. |
| Exodus 38:17 | And the bases for the pillars were of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. The overlaying of their capitals was also of silver, and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver. |

| Exodus 38:27 | The hundred talents of silver were for casting the bases of the sanctuary and the bases of the veil; a hundred bases for the hundred talents, a talent a base. |
| Exodus 38:28 | And of the 1,775 shekels he made hooks for the pillars and overlaid their capitals and made fillets for them. |
| Exodus 38:29 | The bronze that was offered was seventy talents and 2,400 shekels; |
| Exodus 38:30 | with it he made the bases for the entrance of the tent of meeting, the bronze altar and the bronze grating for it and all the utensils of the altar, |
| Exodus 38:31 | the bases around the court, and the bases of the gate of the court, all the pegs of the tabernacle, and all the pegs around the court. |
| Numbers 4:1 | The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, |
| Numbers 4:2 | "Take a census of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their clans and their fathers' houses, |

| Numbers 4:4 | This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting: the most holy things. |
| Numbers 4:5 | When the camp is to set out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it. |
| Numbers 4:6 | Then they shall put on it a covering of goatskin and spread on top of that a cloth all of blue, and shall put in its poles. |

| Numbers 4:16 | "And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall have charge of the oil for the light, the fragrant incense, the regular grain offering, and the anointing oil, with the oversight of the whole tabernacle and all that is in it, of the sanctuary and its vessels." |
| Numbers 4:17 | The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, |
| Numbers 4:18 | "Let not the tribe of the clans of the Kohathites be destroyed from among the Levites, |

| Numbers 4:20 | but they shall not go in to look on the holy things even for a moment, lest they die." |
| Numbers 4:21 | The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, |

| Numbers 4:25 | they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting with its covering and the covering of goatskin that is on top of it and the screen for the entrance of the tent of meeting |
| Numbers 4:26 | and the hangings of the court and the screen for the entrance of the gate of the court that is around the tabernacle and the altar, and their cords and all the equipment for their service. And they shall do all that needs to be done with regard to them. |
| Numbers 4:27 | All the service of the sons of the Gershonites shall be at the command of Aaron and his sons, in all that they are to carry and in all that they have to do. And you shall assign to their charge all that they are to carry. |
| Numbers 4:28 | This is the service of the clans of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting, and their guard duty is to be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. |
| Numbers 4:29 | "As for the sons of Merari, you shall list them by their clans and their fathers' houses. |
| Numbers 4:30 | From thirty years old up to fifty years old, you shall list them, everyone who can come on duty, to do the service of the tent of meeting. |
| Numbers 4:31 | And this is what they are charged to carry, as the whole of their service in the tent of meeting: the frames of the tabernacle, with its bars, pillars, and bases, |
| Numbers 4:32 | and the pillars around the court with their bases, pegs, and cords, with all their equipment and all their accessories. And you shall list by name the objects that they are required to carry. |
| Numbers 4:33 | This is the service of the clans of the sons of Merari, the whole of their service in the tent of meeting, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest." |
| Numbers 4:34 | And Moses and Aaron and the chiefs of the congregation listed the sons of the Kohathites, by their clans and their fathers' houses, |
| Numbers 4:35 | from thirty years old up to fifty years old, everyone who could come on duty, for service in the tent of meeting; |
| Numbers 4:36 | and those listed by clans were 2,750. |
| Numbers 4:37 | This was the list of the clans of the Kohathites, all who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron listed according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses. |
| Numbers 4:38 | Those listed of the sons of Gershon, by their clans and their fathers' houses, |
| Numbers 4:39 | from thirty years old up to fifty years old, everyone who could come on duty for service in the tent of meeting-- |
| Numbers 4:40 | those listed by their clans and their fathers' houses were 2,630. |
| Numbers 4:41 | This was the list of the clans of the sons of Gershon, all who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron listed according to the commandment of the LORD. |
| Numbers 4:42 | Those listed of the clans of the sons of Merari, by their clans and their fathers' houses, |
| Numbers 4:43 | from thirty years old up to fifty years old, everyone who could come on duty, for service in the tent of meeting-- |
| Numbers 4:44 | those listed by clans were 3,200. |
| Numbers 4:45 | This was the list of the clans of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron listed according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses. |
| Numbers 4:46 | All those who were listed of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the chiefs of Israel listed, by their clans and their fathers' houses, |
| Numbers 4:47 | from thirty years old up to fifty years old, everyone who could come to do the service of ministry and the service of bearing burdens in the tent of meeting, |
| Numbers 4:48 | those listed were 8,580. |
| Numbers 4:49 | According to the commandment of the LORD through Moses they were listed, each one with his task of serving or carrying. Thus they were listed by him, as the LORD commanded Moses. |
| 1 Kings 6:1 | In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 6:2 | The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. |
| 1 Kings 6:3 | The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house. |
| 1 Kings 6:4 | And he made for the house windows with recessed frames. |
| 1 Kings 6:5 | He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around. |
| 1 Kings 6:6 | The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. |
| 1 Kings 6:7 | When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built. |
| 1 Kings 6:8 | The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third. |
| 1 Kings 6:9 | So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar. |
| 1 Kings 6:10 | He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar. |
| 1 Kings 6:11 | Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon, |
| 1 Kings 6:12 | "Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father. |
| 1 Kings 6:13 | And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel." |
| 1 Kings 6:14 | So Solomon built the house and finished it. |
| 1 Kings 6:15 | He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress. |
| 1 Kings 6:16 | He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place. |
| 1 Kings 6:17 | The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long. |
| 1 Kings 6:18 | The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen. |
| 1 Kings 6:19 | The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 6:20 | The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid an altar of cedar. |
| 1 Kings 6:21 | And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. |
| 1 Kings 6:22 | And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold. |
| 1 Kings 6:23 | In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high. |
| 1 Kings 6:24 | Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other. |
| 1 Kings 6:25 | The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form. |
| 1 Kings 6:26 | The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub. |
| 1 Kings 6:27 | He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house. |
| 1 Kings 6:28 | And he overlaid the cherubim with gold. |
| 1 Kings 6:29 | Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms. |
| 1 Kings 6:30 | The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms. |
| 1 Kings 6:31 | For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided. |
| 1 Kings 6:32 | He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees. |
| 1 Kings 6:33 | So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square, |
| 1 Kings 6:34 | and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. |
| 1 Kings 6:35 | On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work. |
| 1 Kings 6:36 | He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams. |
| 1 Kings 6:37 | In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv. |
| 1 Kings 6:38 | And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it. |
| 1 Kings 7:1 | Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished his entire house. |
| 1 Kings 7:2 | He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon. Its length was a hundred cubits and its breadth fifty cubits and its height thirty cubits, and it was built on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars. |
| 1 Kings 7:3 | And it was covered with cedar above the chambers that were on the forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row. |
| 1 Kings 7:4 | There were window frames in three rows, and window opposite window in three tiers. |
| 1 Kings 7:5 | All the doorways and windows had square frames, and window was opposite window in three tiers. |
| 1 Kings 7:6 | And he made the Hall of Pillars; its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth thirty cubits. There was a porch in front with pillars, and a canopy in front of them. |
| 1 Kings 7:7 | And he made the Hall of the Throne where he was to pronounce judgment, even the Hall of Judgment. It was finished with cedar from floor to rafters. |
| 1 Kings 7:8 | His own house where he was to dwell, in the other court back of the hall, was of like workmanship. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage. |
| 1 Kings 7:9 | All these were made of costly stones, cut according to measure, sawed with saws, back and front, even from the foundation to the coping, and from the outside to the great court. |
| 1 Kings 7:10 | The foundation was of costly stones, huge stones, stones of eight and ten cubits. |
| 1 Kings 7:11 | And above were costly stones, cut according to measurement, and cedar. |
| 1 Kings 7:12 | The great court had three courses of cut stone all around, and a course of cedar beams; so had the inner court of the house of the LORD and the vestibule of the house. |
| 1 Kings 7:13 | And King Solomon sent and brought Hiram from Tyre. |
| 1 Kings 7:14 | He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze. And he was full of wisdom, understanding, and skill for making any work in bronze. He came to King Solomon and did all his work. |
| 1 Kings 7:15 | He cast two pillars of bronze. Eighteen cubits was the height of one pillar, and a line of twelve cubits measured its circumference. It was hollow, and its thickness was four fingers. The second pillar was the same. |
| 1 Kings 7:16 | He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars. The height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits. |
| 1 Kings 7:17 | There were lattices of checker work with wreaths of chain work for the capitals on the tops of the pillars, a lattice for the one capital and a lattice for the other capital. |
| 1 Kings 7:18 | Likewise he made pomegranates in two rows around the one latticework to cover the capital that was on the top of the pillar, and he did the same with the other capital. |
| 1 Kings 7:19 | Now the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars in the vestibule were of lily-work, four cubits. |
| 1 Kings 7:20 | The capitals were on the two pillars and also above the rounded projection which was beside the latticework. There were two hundred pomegranates in two rows all around, and so with the other capital. |
| 1 Kings 7:21 | He set up the pillars at the vestibule of the temple. He set up the pillar on the south and called its name Jachin, and he set up the pillar on the north and called its name Boaz. |
| 1 Kings 7:22 | And on the tops of the pillars was lily-work. Thus the work of the pillars was finished. |
| 1 Kings 7:23 | Then he made the sea of cast metal. It was round, ten cubits from brim to brim, and five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference. |
| 1 Kings 7:24 | Under its brim were gourds, for ten cubits, compassing the sea all around. The gourds were in two rows, cast with it when it was cast. |
| 1 Kings 7:25 | It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The sea was set on them, and all their rear parts were inward. |
| 1 Kings 7:26 | Its thickness was a handbreadth, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held two thousand baths. |
| 1 Kings 7:27 | He also made the ten stands of bronze. Each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three cubits high. |
| 1 Kings 7:28 | This was the construction of the stands: they had panels, and the panels were set in the frames, |
| 1 Kings 7:29 | and on the panels that were set in the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim. On the frames, both above and below the lions and oxen, there were wreaths of beveled work. |
| 1 Kings 7:30 | Moreover, each stand had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and at the four corners were supports for a basin. The supports were cast with wreaths at the side of each. |
| 1 Kings 7:31 | Its opening was within a crown that projected upward one cubit. Its opening was round, as a pedestal is made, a cubit and a half deep. At its opening there were carvings, and its panels were square, not round. |
| 1 Kings 7:32 | And the four wheels were underneath the panels. The axles of the wheels were of one piece with the stands, and the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half. |
| 1 Kings 7:33 | The wheels were made like a chariot wheel; their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast. |
| 1 Kings 7:34 | There were four supports at the four corners of each stand. The supports were of one piece with the stands. |
| 1 Kings 7:35 | And on the top of the stand there was a round band half a cubit high; and on the top of the stand its stays and its panels were of one piece with it. |
| 1 Kings 7:36 | And on the surfaces of its stays and on its panels, he carved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths all around. |
| 1 Kings 7:37 | After this manner he made the ten stands. All of them were cast alike, of the same measure and the same form. |
| 1 Kings 7:38 | And he made ten basins of bronze. Each basin held forty baths, each basin measured four cubits, and there was a basin for each of the ten stands. |
| 1 Kings 7:39 | And he set the stands, five on the south side of the house, and five on the north side of the house. And he set the sea at the southeast corner of the house. |
| 1 Kings 7:40 | Hiram also made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished all the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of the LORD: |
| 1 Kings 7:41 | the two pillars, the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars, and the two latticeworks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars; |
| 1 Kings 7:42 | and the four hundred pomegranates for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars; |
| 1 Kings 7:43 | the ten stands, and the ten basins on the stands; |
| 1 Kings 7:44 | and the one sea, and the twelve oxen underneath the sea. |
| 1 Kings 7:45 | Now the pots, the shovels, and the basins, all these vessels in the house of the LORD, which Hiram made for King Solomon, were of burnished bronze. |
| 1 Kings 7:46 | In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan. |
| 1 Kings 7:47 | And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because there were so many of them; the weight of the bronze was not ascertained. |
| 1 Kings 7:48 | So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of the LORD: the golden altar, the golden table for the bread of the Presence, |
| 1 Kings 7:49 | the lampstands of pure gold, five on the south side and five on the north, before the inner sanctuary; the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; |
| 1 Kings 7:50 | the cups, snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold; and the sockets of gold, for the doors of the innermost part of the house, the Most Holy Place, and for the doors of the nave of the temple. |
| 1 Kings 7:51 | Thus all the work that King Solomon did on the house of the LORD was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, the silver, the gold, and the vessels, and stored them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 8:1 | Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers' houses of the people of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion. |
| 1 Kings 8:2 | And all the men of Israel assembled to King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. |
| 1 Kings 8:3 | And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. |
| 1 Kings 8:4 | And they brought up the ark of the LORD, the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent; the priests and the Levites brought them up. |
| 1 Kings 8:5 | And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who had assembled before him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered. |
| 1 Kings 8:6 | Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place in the inner sanctuary of the house, in the Most Holy Place, underneath the wings of the cherubim. |
| 1 Kings 8:7 | For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles. |
| 1 Kings 8:8 | And the poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the Holy Place before the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day. |
| 1 Kings 8:9 | There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone that Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. |
| 1 Kings 8:10 | And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of the LORD, |
| 1 Kings 8:11 | so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 8:12 | Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that he would dwell in thick darkness. |
| 1 Kings 8:13 | I have indeed built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in forever." |
| 1 Kings 8:14 | Then the king turned around and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel stood. |
| 1 Kings 8:15 | And he said, "Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who with his hand has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to David my father, saying, |
| 1 Kings 8:16 | 'Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there. But I chose David to be over my people Israel.' |
| 1 Kings 8:17 | Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. |
| 1 Kings 8:18 | But the LORD said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart. |
| 1 Kings 8:19 | Nevertheless, you shall not build the house, but your son who shall be born to you shall build the house for my name.' |
| 1 Kings 8:20 | Now the LORD has fulfilled his promise that he made. For I have risen in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and I have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. |
| 1 Kings 8:21 | And there I have provided a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD that he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt." |
| 1 Kings 8:22 | Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven, |
| 1 Kings 8:23 | and said, "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart, |
| 1 Kings 8:24 | who have kept with your servant David my father what you declared to him. You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day. |
| 1 Kings 8:25 | Now therefore, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, 'You shall not lack a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.' |
| 1 Kings 8:26 | Now therefore, O God of Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you have spoken to your servant David my father. |
| 1 Kings 8:27 | "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built! |
| 1 Kings 8:28 | Yet have regard to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, O LORD my God, listening to the cry and to the prayer that your servant prays before you this day, |
| 1 Kings 8:29 | that your eyes may be open night and day toward this house, the place of which you have said, 'My name shall be there,' that you may listen to the prayer that your servant offers toward this place. |
| 1 Kings 8:30 | And listen to the plea of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. And listen in heaven your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. |
| 1 Kings 8:31 | "If a man sins against his neighbor and is made to take an oath and comes and swears his oath before your altar in this house, |
| 1 Kings 8:32 | then hear in heaven and act and judge your servants, condemning the guilty by bringing his conduct on his own head, and vindicating the righteous by rewarding him according to his righteousness. |
| 1 Kings 8:33 | "When your people Israel are defeated before the enemy because they have sinned against you, and if they turn again to you and acknowledge your name and pray and plead with you in this house, |
| 1 Kings 8:34 | then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them again to the land that you gave to their fathers. |
| 1 Kings 8:35 | "When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and acknowledge your name and turn from their sin, when you afflict them, |
| 1 Kings 8:36 | then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and grant rain upon your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance. |
| 1 Kings 8:37 | "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence or blight or mildew or locust or caterpillar, if their enemy besieges them in the land at their gates, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is, |
| 1 Kings 8:38 | whatever prayer, whatever plea is made by any man or by all your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart and stretching out his hands toward this house, |
| 1 Kings 8:39 | then hear in heaven your dwelling place and forgive and act and render to each whose heart you know, according to all his ways (for you, you only, know the hearts of all the children of mankind), |
| 1 Kings 8:40 | that they may fear you all the days that they live in the land that you gave to our fathers. |
| 1 Kings 8:41 | "Likewise, when a foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, comes from a far country for your name's sake |
| 1 Kings 8:42 | (for they shall hear of your great name and your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this house, |
| 1 Kings 8:43 | hear in heaven your dwelling place and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to you, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house that I have built is called by your name. |
| 1 Kings 8:44 | "If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to the LORD toward the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name, |
| 1 Kings 8:45 | then hear in heaven their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause. |
| 1 Kings 8:46 | "If they sin against you--for there is no one who does not sin--and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy, so that they are carried away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near, |
| 1 Kings 8:47 | yet if they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors, saying, 'We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,' |
| 1 Kings 8:48 | if they repent with all their mind and with all their heart in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city that you have chosen, and the house that I have built for your name, |
| 1 Kings 8:49 | then hear in heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause |
| 1 Kings 8:50 | and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions that they have committed against you, and grant them compassion in the sight of those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them |
| 1 Kings 8:51 | (for they are your people, and your heritage, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the iron furnace). |
| 1 Kings 8:52 | Let your eyes be open to the plea of your servant and to the plea of your people Israel, giving ear to them whenever they call to you. |
| 1 Kings 8:53 | For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be your heritage, as you declared through Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD." |
| 1 Kings 8:54 | Now as Solomon finished offering all this prayer and plea to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, where he had knelt with hands outstretched toward heaven. |
| 1 Kings 8:55 | And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying, |
| 1 Kings 8:56 | "Blessed be the LORD who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant. |
| 1 Kings 8:57 | The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us, |
| 1 Kings 8:58 | that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his rules, which he commanded our fathers. |
| 1 Kings 8:59 | Let these words of mine, with which I have pleaded before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, and may he maintain the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as each day requires, |
| 1 Kings 8:60 | that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other. |
| 1 Kings 8:61 | Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the LORD our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day." |
| 1 Kings 8:62 | Then the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 8:63 | Solomon offered as peace offerings to the LORD 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD. |
| 1 Kings 8:64 | The same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD, for there he offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat pieces of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before the LORD was too small to receive the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat pieces of the peace offerings. |
| 1 Kings 8:65 | So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days. |
| 1 Kings 8:66 | On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king and went to their homes joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown to David his servant and to Israel his people. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:1 | Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:2 | He began to build in the second month of the fourth year of his reign. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:3 | These are Solomon's measurements for building the house of God: the length, in cubits of the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:4 | The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and its height was 120 cubits. He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:5 | The nave he lined with cypress and covered it with fine gold and made palms and chains on it. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:6 | He adorned the house with settings of precious stones. The gold was gold of Parvaim. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:7 | So he lined the house with gold--its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors--and he carved cherubim on the walls. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:8 | And he made the Most Holy Place. Its length, corresponding to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth was twenty cubits. He overlaid it with 600 talents of fine gold. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:9 | The weight of gold for the nails was fifty shekels. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:10 | In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of wood and overlaid them with gold. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:11 | The wings of the cherubim together extended twenty cubits: one wing of the one, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, of five cubits, touched the wing of the other cherub; |
| 2 Chronicles 3:12 | and of this cherub, one wing, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and the other wing, also of five cubits, was joined to the wing of the first cherub. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:13 | The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits. The cherubim stood on their feet, facing the nave. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:14 | And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson fabrics and fine linen, and he worked cherubim on it. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:15 | In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, with a capital of five cubits on the top of each. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:16 | He made chains like a necklace and put them on the tops of the pillars, and he made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains. |
| 2 Chronicles 3:17 | He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:1 | He made an altar of bronze, twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:2 | Then he made the sea of cast metal. It was round, ten cubits from brim to brim, and five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:3 | Under it were figures of gourds, for ten cubits, compassing the sea all around. The gourds were in two rows, cast with it when it was cast. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:4 | It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The sea was set on them, and all their rear parts were inward. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:5 | Its thickness was a handbreadth. And its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held 3,000 baths. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:6 | He also made ten basins in which to wash, and set five on the south side, and five on the north side. In these they were to rinse off what was used for the burnt offering, and the sea was for the priests to wash in. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:7 | And he made ten golden lampstands as prescribed, and set them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:8 | He also made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. And he made a hundred basins of gold. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:9 | He made the court of the priests and the great court and doors for the court and overlaid their doors with bronze. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:10 | And he set the sea at the southeast corner of the house. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:11 | Hiram also made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of God: |
| 2 Chronicles 4:12 | the two pillars, the bowls, and the two capitals on the top of the pillars; and the two latticeworks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; |
| 2 Chronicles 4:13 | and the 400 pomegranates for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:14 | He made the stands also, and the basins on the stands, |
| 2 Chronicles 4:15 | and the one sea, and the twelve oxen underneath it. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:16 | The pots, the shovels, the forks, and all the equipment for these Huram-abi made of burnished bronze for King Solomon for the house of the LORD. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:17 | In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:18 | Solomon made all these things in great quantities, for the weight of the bronze was not sought. |
| 2 Chronicles 4:19 | So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God: the golden altar, the tables for the bread of the Presence, |
| 2 Chronicles 4:20 | the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold to burn before the inner sanctuary, as prescribed; |
| 2 Chronicles 4:21 | the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of purest gold; |
| 2 Chronicles 4:22 | the snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold, and the sockets of the temple, for the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and for the doors of the nave of the temple were of gold. |
| Ezekiel 43:1 | Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing east. |
| Ezekiel 43:2 | And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east. And the sound of his coming was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory. |
| Ezekiel 43:3 | And the vision I saw was just like the vision that I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and just like the vision that I had seen by the Chebar canal. And I fell on my face. |
| Ezekiel 43:4 | As the glory of the LORD entered the temple by the gate facing east, |
| Ezekiel 43:5 | the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple. |
| Ezekiel 43:6 | While the man was standing beside me, I heard one speaking to me out of the temple, |
| Ezekiel 43:7 | and he said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever. And the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoring and by the dead bodies of their kings at their high places, |
| Ezekiel 43:8 | by setting their threshold by my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them. They have defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed, so I have consumed them in my anger. |
| Ezekiel 43:9 | Now let them put away their whoring and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will dwell in their midst forever. |
| Ezekiel 43:10 | "As for you, son of man, describe to the house of Israel the temple, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and they shall measure the plan. |
| Ezekiel 43:11 | And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple, its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, that is, its whole design; and make known to them as well all its statutes and its whole design and all its laws, and write it down in their sight, so that they may observe all its laws and all its statutes and carry them out. |
| Ezekiel 43:12 | This is the law of the temple: the whole territory on the top of the mountain all around shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple. |
| Ezekiel 43:13 | "These are the measurements of the altar by cubits (the cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth): its base shall be one cubit high and one cubit broad, with a rim of one span around its edge. And this shall be the height of the altar: |
| Ezekiel 43:14 | from the base on the ground to the lower ledge, two cubits, with a breadth of one cubit; and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge, four cubits, with a breadth of one cubit; |
| Ezekiel 43:15 | and the altar hearth, four cubits; and from the altar hearth projecting upward, four horns. |
| Ezekiel 43:16 | The altar hearth shall be square, twelve cubits long by twelve broad. |
| Ezekiel 43:17 | The ledge also shall be square, fourteen cubits long by fourteen broad, with a rim around it half a cubit broad, and its base one cubit all around. The steps of the altar shall face east." |
| Ezekiel 43:18 | And he said to me, "Son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: These are the ordinances for the altar: On the day when it is erected for offering burnt offerings upon it and for throwing blood against it, |
| Ezekiel 43:19 | you shall give to the Levitical priests of the family of Zadok, who draw near to me to minister to me, declares the Lord GOD, a bull from the herd for a sin offering. |
| Ezekiel 43:20 | And you shall take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar and on the four corners of the ledge and upon the rim all around. Thus you shall purify the altar and make atonement for it. |
| Ezekiel 43:21 | You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place belonging to the temple, outside the sacred area. |
| Ezekiel 43:22 | And on the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and the altar shall be purified, as it was purified with the bull. |
| Ezekiel 43:23 | When you have finished purifying it, you shall offer a bull from the herd without blemish and a ram from the flock without blemish. |
| Ezekiel 43:24 | You shall present them before the LORD, and the priests shall sprinkle salt on them and offer them up as a burnt offering to the LORD. |
| Ezekiel 43:25 | For seven days you shall provide daily a male goat for a sin offering; also, a bull from the herd and a ram from the flock, without blemish, shall be provided. |
| Ezekiel 43:26 | Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and cleanse it, and so consecrate it. |
| Ezekiel 43:27 | And when they have completed these days, then from the eighth day onward the priests shall offer on the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, and I will accept you, declares the Lord GOD." |
| Ezekiel 44:1 | Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faces east. And it was shut. |
| Ezekiel 44:2 | And the LORD said to me, "This gate shall remain shut; it shall not be opened, and no one shall enter by it, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered by it. Therefore it shall remain shut. |
| Ezekiel 44:3 | Only the prince may sit in it to eat bread before the LORD. He shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gate, and shall go out by the same way." |
| Ezekiel 44:4 | Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple, and I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple of the LORD. And I fell on my face. |
| Ezekiel 44:5 | And the LORD said to me, "Son of man, mark well, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears all that I shall tell you concerning all the statutes of the temple of the LORD and all its laws. And mark well the entrance to the temple and all the exits from the sanctuary. |
| Ezekiel 44:6 | And say to the rebellious house, to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: O house of Israel, enough of all your abominations, |
| Ezekiel 44:7 | in admitting foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, to be in my sanctuary, profaning my temple, when you offer to me my food, the fat and the blood. You have broken my covenant, in addition to all your abominations. |
| Ezekiel 44:8 | And you have not kept charge of my holy things, but you have set others to keep my charge for you in my sanctuary. |
| Ezekiel 44:9 | "Thus says the Lord GOD: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, of all the foreigners who are among the people of Israel, shall enter my sanctuary. |
| Ezekiel 44:10 | But the Levites who went far from me, going astray from me after their idols when Israel went astray, shall bear their punishment. |
| Ezekiel 44:11 | They shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the temple and ministering in the temple. They shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before the people, to minister to them. |
| Ezekiel 44:12 | Because they ministered to them before their idols and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have sworn concerning them, declares the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their punishment. |
| Ezekiel 44:13 | They shall not come near to me, to serve me as priest, nor come near any of my holy things and the things that are most holy, but they shall bear their shame and the abominations that they have committed. |
| Ezekiel 44:14 | Yet I will appoint them to keep charge of the temple, to do all its service and all that is to be done in it. |
| Ezekiel 44:15 | "But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept the charge of my sanctuary when the people of Israel went astray from me, shall come near to me to minister to me. And they shall stand before me to offer me the fat and the blood, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 44:16 | They shall enter my sanctuary, and they shall approach my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my charge. |
| Ezekiel 44:17 | When they enter the gates of the inner court, they shall wear linen garments. They shall have nothing of wool on them, while they minister at the gates of the inner court, and within. |
| Ezekiel 44:18 | They shall have linen turbans on their heads, and linen undergarments around their waists. They shall not bind themselves with anything that causes sweat. |
| Ezekiel 44:19 | And when they go out into the outer court to the people, they shall put off the garments in which they have been ministering and lay them in the holy chambers. And they shall put on other garments, lest they transmit holiness to the people with their garments. |
| Ezekiel 44:20 | They shall not shave their heads or let their locks grow long; they shall surely trim the hair of their heads. |
| Ezekiel 44:21 | No priest shall drink wine when he enters the inner court. |
| Ezekiel 44:22 | They shall not marry a widow or a divorced woman, but only virgins of the offspring of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest. |
| Ezekiel 44:23 | They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean. |
| Ezekiel 44:24 | In a dispute, they shall act as judges, and they shall judge it according to my judgments. They shall keep my laws and my statutes in all my appointed feasts, and they shall keep my Sabbaths holy. |
| Ezekiel 44:25 | They shall not defile themselves by going near to a dead person. However, for father or mother, for son or daughter, for brother or unmarried sister they may defile themselves. |
| Ezekiel 44:26 | After he has become clean, they shall count seven days for him. |
| Ezekiel 44:27 | And on the day that he goes into the Holy Place, into the inner court, to minister in the Holy Place, he shall offer his sin offering, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 44:28 | "This shall be their inheritance: I am their inheritance: and you shall give them no possession in Israel; I am their possession. |
| Ezekiel 44:29 | They shall eat the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering, and every devoted thing in Israel shall be theirs. |
| Ezekiel 44:30 | And the first of all the firstfruits of all kinds, and every offering of all kinds from all your offerings, shall belong to the priests. You shall also give to the priests the first of your dough, that a blessing may rest on your house. |
| Ezekiel 44:31 | The priests shall not eat of anything, whether bird or beast, that has died of itself or is torn by wild animals. |
| Ezekiel 45:1 | "When you allot the land as an inheritance, you shall set apart for the LORD a portion of the land as a holy district, 25,000 cubits long and 20,000 cubits broad. It shall be holy throughout its whole extent. |
| Ezekiel 45:2 | Of this a square plot of 500 by 500 cubits shall be for the sanctuary, with fifty cubits for an open space around it. |
| Ezekiel 45:3 | And from this measured district you shall measure off a section 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 broad, in which shall be the sanctuary, the Most Holy Place. |
| Ezekiel 45:4 | It shall be the holy portion of the land. It shall be for the priests, who minister in the sanctuary and approach the LORD to minister to him, and it shall be a place for their houses and a holy place for the sanctuary. |
| Ezekiel 45:5 | Another section, 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits broad, shall be for the Levites who minister at the temple, as their possession for cities to live in. |
| Ezekiel 45:6 | "Alongside the portion set apart as the holy district you shall assign for the property of the city an area 5,000 cubits broad and 25,000 cubits long. It shall belong to the whole house of Israel. |
| Ezekiel 45:7 | "And to the prince shall belong the land on both sides of the holy district and the property of the city, alongside the holy district and the property of the city, on the west and on the east, corresponding in length to one of the tribal portions, and extending from the western to the eastern boundary |
| Ezekiel 45:8 | of the land. It is to be his property in Israel. And my princes shall no more oppress my people, but they shall let the house of Israel have the land according to their tribes. |
| Ezekiel 45:9 | "Thus says the Lord GOD: Enough, O princes of Israel! Put away violence and oppression, and execute justice and righteousness. Cease your evictions of my people, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 45:10 | "You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath. |
| Ezekiel 45:11 | The ephah and the bath shall be of the same measure, the bath containing one tenth of a homer, and the ephah one tenth of a homer; the homer shall be the standard measure. |
| Ezekiel 45:12 | The shekel shall be twenty gerahs; twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels shall be your mina. |
| Ezekiel 45:13 | "This is the offering that you shall make: one sixth of an ephah from each homer of wheat, and one sixth of an ephah from each homer of barley, |
| Ezekiel 45:14 | and as the fixed portion of oil, measured in baths, one tenth of a bath from each cor (the cor, like the homer, contains ten baths). |
| Ezekiel 45:15 | And one sheep from every flock of two hundred, from the watering places of Israel for grain offering, burnt offering, and peace offerings, to make atonement for them, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 45:16 | All the people of the land shall be obliged to give this offering to the prince in Israel. |
| Ezekiel 45:17 | It shall be the prince's duty to furnish the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the feasts, the new moons, and the Sabbaths, all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel: he shall provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel. |
| Ezekiel 45:18 | "Thus says the Lord GOD: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a bull from the herd without blemish, and purify the sanctuary. |
| Ezekiel 45:19 | The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and the posts of the gate of the inner court. |
| Ezekiel 45:20 | You shall do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who has sinned through error or ignorance; so you shall make atonement for the temple. |
| Ezekiel 45:21 | "In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall celebrate the Feast of the Passover, and for seven days unleavened bread shall be eaten. |
| Ezekiel 45:22 | On that day the prince shall provide for himself and all the people of the land a young bull for a sin offering. |
| Ezekiel 45:23 | And on the seven days of the festival he shall provide as a burnt offering to the LORD seven young bulls and seven rams without blemish, on each of the seven days; and a male goat daily for a sin offering. |
| Ezekiel 45:24 | And he shall provide as a grain offering an ephah for each bull, an ephah for each ram, and a hin of oil to each ephah. |
| Ezekiel 45:25 | In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month and for the seven days of the feast, he shall make the same provision for sin offerings, burnt offerings, and grain offerings, and for the oil. |
| Ezekiel 46:1 | "Thus says the Lord GOD: The gate of the inner court that faces east shall be shut on the six working days, but on the Sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened. |
| Ezekiel 46:2 | The prince shall enter by the vestibule of the gate from outside, and shall take his stand by the post of the gate. The priests shall offer his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out, but the gate shall not be shut until evening. |
| Ezekiel 46:3 | The people of the land shall bow down at the entrance of that gate before the LORD on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. |
| Ezekiel 46:4 | The burnt offering that the prince offers to the LORD on the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish. |
| Ezekiel 46:5 | And the grain offering with the ram shall be an ephah, and the grain offering with the lambs shall be as much as he is able, together with a hin of oil to each ephah. |
| Ezekiel 46:6 | On the day of the new moon he shall offer a bull from the herd without blemish, and six lambs and a ram, which shall be without blemish. |
| Ezekiel 46:7 | As a grain offering he shall provide an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he is able, together with a hin of oil to each ephah. |
| Ezekiel 46:8 | When the prince enters, he shall enter by the vestibule of the gate, and he shall go out by the same way. |
| Ezekiel 46:9 | "When the people of the land come before the LORD at the appointed feasts, he who enters by the north gate to worship shall go out by the south gate, and he who enters by the south gate shall go out by the north gate: no one shall return by way of the gate by which he entered, but each shall go out straight ahead. |
| Ezekiel 46:10 | When they enter, the prince shall enter with them, and when they go out, he shall go out. |
| Ezekiel 46:11 | "At the feasts and the appointed festivals, the grain offering with a young bull shall be an ephah, and with a ram an ephah, and with the lambs as much as one is able to give, together with a hin of oil to an ephah. |
| Ezekiel 46:12 | When the prince provides a freewill offering, either a burnt offering or peace offerings as a freewill offering to the LORD, the gate facing east shall be opened for him. And he shall offer his burnt offering or his peace offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out the gate shall be shut. |
| Ezekiel 46:13 | "You shall provide a lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering to the LORD daily; morning by morning you shall provide it. |
| Ezekiel 46:14 | And you shall provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, one sixth of an ephah, and one third of a hin of oil to moisten the flour, as a grain offering to the LORD. This is a perpetual statute. |
| Ezekiel 46:15 | Thus the lamb and the meal offering and the oil shall be provided, morning by morning, for a regular burnt offering. |
| Ezekiel 46:16 | "Thus says the Lord GOD: If the prince makes a gift to any of his sons as his inheritance, it shall belong to his sons. It is their property by inheritance. |
| Ezekiel 46:17 | But if he makes a gift out of his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty. Then it shall revert to the prince; surely it is his inheritance--it shall belong to his sons. |
| Ezekiel 46:18 | The prince shall not take any of the inheritance of the people, thrusting them out of their property. He shall give his sons their inheritance out of his own property, so that none of my people shall be scattered from his property." |
| Ezekiel 46:19 | Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, to the north row of the holy chambers for the priests, and behold, a place was there at the extreme western end of them. |
| Ezekiel 46:20 | And he said to me, "This is the place where the priests shall boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, and where they shall bake the grain offering, in order not to bring them out into the outer court and so transmit holiness to the people." |
| Ezekiel 46:21 | Then he brought me out to the outer court and led me around to the four corners of the court. And behold, in each corner of the court there was another court-- |
| Ezekiel 46:22 | in the four corners of the court were small courts, forty cubits long and thirty broad; the four were of the same size. |
| Ezekiel 46:23 | On the inside, around each of the four courts was a row of masonry, with hearths made at the bottom of the rows all around. |
| Ezekiel 46:24 | Then he said to me, "These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple shall boil the sacrifices of the people." |
| Ezekiel 47:1 | Then he brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from below the south end of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar. |
| Ezekiel 47:2 | Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces toward the east; and behold, the water was trickling out on the south side. |
| Ezekiel 47:3 | Going on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, the man measured a thousand cubits, and then led me through the water, and it was ankle-deep. |
| Ezekiel 47:4 | Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep. |
| Ezekiel 47:5 | Again he measured a thousand, and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen. It was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be passed through. |
| Ezekiel 47:6 | And he said to me, "Son of man, have you seen this?"Then he led me back to the bank of the river. |
| Ezekiel 47:7 | As I went back, I saw on the bank of the river very many trees on the one side and on the other. |
| Ezekiel 47:8 | And he said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, and enters the sea; when the water flows into the sea, the water will become fresh. |
| Ezekiel 47:9 | And wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. |
| Ezekiel 47:10 | Fishermen will stand beside the sea. From Engedi to Eneglaim it will be a place for the spreading of nets. Its fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea. |
| Ezekiel 47:11 | But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they are to be left for salt. |
| Ezekiel 47:12 | And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing." |
| Ezekiel 47:13 | Thus says the Lord GOD: "This is the boundary by which you shall divide the land for inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph shall have two portions. |
| Ezekiel 47:14 | And you shall divide equally what I swore to give to your fathers. This land shall fall to you as your inheritance. |
| Ezekiel 47:15 | "This shall be the boundary of the land: On the north side, from the Great Sea by way of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, and on to Zedad, |
| Ezekiel 47:16 | Berothah, Sibraim (which lies on the border between Damascus and Hamath), as far as Hazer-hatticon, which is on the border of Hauran. |
| Ezekiel 47:17 | So the boundary shall run from the sea to Hazar-enan, which is on the northern border of Damascus, with the border of Hamath to the north. This shall be the north side. |
| Ezekiel 47:18 | "On the east side, the boundary shall run between Hauran and Damascus; along the Jordan between Gilead and the land of Israel; to the eastern sea and as far as Tamar. This shall be the east side. |
| Ezekiel 47:19 | "On the south side, it shall run from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribah-kadesh, from there along the Brook of Egypt to the Great Sea. This shall be the south side. |
| Ezekiel 47:20 | "On the west side, the Great Sea shall be the boundary to a point opposite Lebo-hamath. This shall be the west side. |
| Ezekiel 47:21 | "So you shall divide this land among you according to the tribes of Israel. |
| Ezekiel 47:22 | You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the sojourners who reside among you and have had children among you. They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel. With you they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. |
| Ezekiel 47:23 | In whatever tribe the sojourner resides, there you shall assign him his inheritance, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 48:1 | "These are the names of the tribes: Beginning at the northern extreme, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan (which is on the northern border of Damascus over against Hamath), and extending from the east side to the west, Dan, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:2 | Adjoining the territory of Dan, from the east side to the west, Asher, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:3 | Adjoining the territory of Asher, from the east side to the west, Naphtali, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:4 | Adjoining the territory of Naphtali, from the east side to the west, Manasseh, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:5 | Adjoining the territory of Manasseh, from the east side to the west, Ephraim, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:6 | Adjoining the territory of Ephraim, from the east side to the west, Reuben, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:7 | Adjoining the territory of Reuben, from the east side to the west, Judah, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:8 | "Adjoining the territory of Judah, from the east side to the west, shall be the portion which you shall set apart, 25,000 cubits in breadth, and in length equal to one of the tribal portions, from the east side to the west, with the sanctuary in the midst of it. |
| Ezekiel 48:9 | The portion that you shall set apart for the LORD shall be 25,000 cubits in length, and 20,000 in breadth. |
| Ezekiel 48:10 | These shall be the allotments of the holy portion: the priests shall have an allotment measuring 25,000 cubits on the northern side, 10,000 cubits in breadth on the western side, 10,000 in breadth on the eastern side, and 25,000 in length on the southern side, with the sanctuary of the LORD in the midst of it. |
| Ezekiel 48:11 | This shall be for the consecrated priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept my charge, who did not go astray when the people of Israel went astray, as the Levites did. |
| Ezekiel 48:12 | And it shall belong to them as a special portion from the holy portion of the land, a most holy place, adjoining the territory of the Levites. |
| Ezekiel 48:13 | And alongside the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an allotment 25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 in breadth. The whole length shall be 25,000 cubits and the breadth 20,000. |
| Ezekiel 48:14 | They shall not sell or exchange any of it. They shall not alienate this choice portion of the land, for it is holy to the LORD. |
| Ezekiel 48:15 | "The remainder, 5,000 cubits in breadth and 25,000 in length, shall be for common use for the city, for dwellings and for open country. In the midst of it shall be the city, |
| Ezekiel 48:16 | and these shall be its measurements: the north side 4,500 cubits, the south side 4,500, the east side 4,500, and the west side 4,500. |
| Ezekiel 48:17 | And the city shall have open land: on the north 250 cubits, on the south 250, on the east 250, and on the west 250. |
| Ezekiel 48:18 | The remainder of the length alongside the holy portion shall be 10,000 cubits to the east, and 10,000 to the west, and it shall be alongside the holy portion. Its produce shall be food for the workers of the city. |
| Ezekiel 48:19 | And the workers of the city, from all the tribes of Israel, shall till it. |
| Ezekiel 48:20 | The whole portion that you shall set apart shall be 25,000 cubits square, that is, the holy portion together with the property of the city. |
| Ezekiel 48:21 | "What remains on both sides of the holy portion and of the property of the city shall belong to the prince. Extending from the 25,000 cubits of the holy portion to the east border, and westward from the 25,000 cubits to the west border, parallel to the tribal portions, it shall belong to the prince. The holy portion with the sanctuary of the temple shall be in its midst. |
| Ezekiel 48:22 | It shall be separate from the property of the Levites and the property of the city, which are in the midst of that which belongs to the prince. The portion of the prince shall lie between the territory of Judah and the territory of Benjamin. |
| Ezekiel 48:23 | "As for the rest of the tribes: from the east side to the west, Benjamin, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:24 | Adjoining the territory of Benjamin, from the east side to the west, Simeon, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:25 | Adjoining the territory of Simeon, from the east side to the west, Issachar, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:26 | Adjoining the territory of Issachar, from the east side to the west, Zebulun, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:27 | Adjoining the territory of Zebulun, from the east side to the west, Gad, one portion. |
| Ezekiel 48:28 | And adjoining the territory of Gad to the south, the boundary shall run from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-kadesh, from there along the Brook of Egypt to the Great Sea. |
| Ezekiel 48:29 | This is the land that you shall allot as an inheritance among the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions, declares the Lord GOD. |
| Ezekiel 48:30 | "These shall be the exits of the city: On the north side, which is to be 4,500 cubits by measure, |
| Ezekiel 48:31 | three gates, the gate of Reuben, the gate of Judah, and the gate of Levi, the gates of the city being named after the tribes of Israel. |
