Nehemiah Stops Oppression of the Poor

Neh 5:1

Now the re arose a great outcry of the people and of their wives against the ir Jewish brothers.

Exodus 3:7	Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,

Deuteronomy 15:11	For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.'
Acts 7:26	And on the following day he appeared to them as they were quarreling and tried to reconcile them, saying, 'Men, you are brothers. Why do you wrong each other?'

For there were those who said, “With our sons and our daughters, we are many. So let us get grain, that we may eat and keep alive.”
